Veil of Ignorance

Albus Dumbledore once said in the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban that “Happiness can be found even in the darkness of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” We’re all trapped in a place filled with darkness and a place with no hope. It covers our eyes to keep us from seeing the light and that light is us. We are all the light we believe our hearts could possess. It even allow us to reflect on our faces, through our actions, to the people we love and to those who are stuck in the dark. One day the shadows of darkness will take us to a place where we’re free and we’re finally given a chance to escape. If every human on earth is thought to be grateful, the world could not foster negativity and positivity will radiate.
In today’s time, the world is nearly in chaos. Already broken, pessimism and negative energy surrounds the planet. We follow after funds as we believe that it will earn us happiness. Deforest natural habitats for own benefits, families swearing their kids for selfish purposes and care for the demand than the needy. This brokenness is called “sin”, that makes every person self- centered and not think about its inconvenience. The poor gets poorer and the world’s people can’t help itself to get worse.
Out of 7 billion people in the world, each one of us is unique in our own way yet we tend to make ourselves “perfect” just to fit in a just and fair society that we thought and by creating this mindset we almost set ourselves up for failure. Throughout time, generations of people are mixing and shaping what we call a society. We live in a world where cops are suppose to protect us but leave us for death, where children are considered criminals, where the status of your life determined whether you have justice or peace, where society tends to rate or judge one for what they did before and we live in a world where we don’t notice this is the kind of the world we live in. There is no doubt that most of the people have lost the value in living life and still lives in misery and suffers from starvation, wars and etc.
Wouldn’t be the world a better place if opened our eyes? People are blinded by ignorance, self satisfaction and greed. Maybe if they see the view of the world in a better picture, we wouldn’t suffer this much. There are so many reasons why the world is changing; and its for the worse. Hate is something that destroys people. If it doesn’t stop the world will continue to go downward. That’s why immediate action needs to take place.

The only thing that is permanent in this world is change, it is inevitable. It will continue to go on and develop. If people wants to heal the world, they should start doing things. But the real heroes are not the ones who actually do things, its the people who choose to listen, pay attention speak up when something is not right. A famous author, John Green once said that the world wasn’t made for us, we were made for the world. We know that the world is changing for the worse and definitely, something needs to be done.
